My second great grandmother, Lillis B. Cook Lindley, was the first teacher at Martin School. My grandfather, Walter Saul, also did a stint as teacher there and later, in the 40's, contributed to the production of a little "Martin School History" booklet. My father, Adna Saul, also made poetic contributions to that booklet. Do you have any idea when this photograph was taken? ~Brian Saul bsaul_2000@yahoo.com
Hello Brian- I am not certain, but I think it is circa 1903. I have emailed Greentown Historical Society http://www.greentownhistory.org/ to inquire. They have many photos of the school. If you contact them, I am sure they would love to have the information you shared with me. I think they have a copy of the booklet your grandfather helped write. I have a 1940 reunion photo I will send to you.
